Shipments to these areas will begin in May.European and Canadian educational institutions are now able to purchase the first truly affordable digital planetarium system. The Digitarium Alpha projector offers advanced features to excite and engage students of all ages, from preschool through college. Zoom in on and label any object; demonstrate annual motion, including displaying planet trails; show the effects of precession of the equinoxes; simulate the sky from any point on Earth; display constellation line drawings, labels, and artwork; and much more. Teachers can use the Digitarium Alpha?s integrated DVD drive to project their own or third party images and video, including prerecorded fulldome shows. The projector also has a video-in port for projecting directly from a separate computer, if desired. Due to its digital technology, the Digitarium Alpha projector is significantly more powerful than analog ("pinhole") portable planetariums.
